Educator Workshop: Institute on Integrating Global Competence

In this 2-day workshop participants will be introduced to World Savvy’s Educational Approach through hands-on learning experiences. Educators will explore Global Competence and its importance in the classroom, school, and society. The World Savvy Case Study Approach, an inquiry-based protocol for building background knowledge on significant global issues will be experienced, as well as the Knowledge-to-Action design process where educators will use a design thinking methodology to arrive at a solution to a local issue. World Savvy’s suite of resources will be shared with participants as they frame student learning experiences. Opportunities for reflection, debrief, and open exchange of ideas and practice will occur throughout the two days.

Educator Workshop: Assessment for Global Competence

World Savvy’s Assessment for Global Competence workshop is designed to support educators as they implement Knowledge-to-Action projects in their classrooms. In this workshop, educators will take engage in a performance assessment and have the opportunity to design their own performance assessment that allows students to demonstrate their global competencies. Educators will also learn new strategies for implementing assessment and feedback cycles on global competence and be introduced to World Savvy resources to support these efforts.
